WarRock PH Now on Closed Beta
I just received an e-mail from amped.com.ph today about War Rock. For those of you who didn’t know, War Rock is an online first person shooter (FPS) game developed by Dream Execution Technology Co., Ltd of Korea and distributed in the Philippines by ABS-CBN Multimedia Inc.

This sounds like a brilliant game, except one problem for me. IT ONLY WORKS ON WINDOWS! *Bangs head on computer*
Why couldn’t I have an intel Mac OS X 10.4.9, then I could run Windows on it.

Oh, yeah. I forgot to include in the post that this game is for Windows users only. Anyway, I’m gonna try this game out and I’ll tell you if it’s worth upgrading to an Intel-based Mac.

i have an intel based mac and i worked windows on it , then i installed war rock with no problem…but then when i click “OK” on the updater the screen goes blank and and error dialog pops up saying someting about direct 3D….any ideas as to what the problem is? or how it can be solved so i can play !!!

Hey Bob, welcome back!
Yup. Direct3D is a component of DirectX, an API of Microsoft. In order for DirectX to properly work, you must have a Windows operating system (which you already have) and a graphics card that natively supports DirectX. Since you’re using Windows in an Intel-based Mac, DirectX might have ran into problems related to native support.
In your case, the problem might lie in your graphics card (or video card) driver. As far as I know, graphics card manufacturers such as nVidia and ATI do not make drivers that support Windows in an Intel-based Mac. Usually, they make drivers for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Drivers should be based on specific hardware (such as a Mac or a PC).
Mac supports DirectX’s competitor, OpenGL. The game you want to play is only supposed to work on Windows (an a PC). So forcing it to run on Mac would cause unexpected problems.
It’s just unfortunate that the game doesn’t support Macs at this time. The Korean developers most likely do not have plans to port this game into other platforms besides Windows (and PC’s) since PC users make up the most of the desktop market.

i have install war rock ph and yet a cant play because it tells that server connection error download patch but i cant find any patch in the net is their a problem in my download installer or in my installed program

The thing with online games is that the patch is automatically downloaded and installed as you start the game. This means that you can’t even play the game until the download and the installation of the patch is finished. There’s no manual download of the patch.
I have a strong feeling that the problem is with your router or firewall settings. Try disabling your Internet Security software suite for a while (if you have one) and then run the game again. Browse the Warrock PH support forums as well and search for ports that are used by the game. These ports should be configured and forwarded to the router or firewall.

This game is very great and I’m addicted to it but one day while loading the patch, it says “cannot get a file(version. blah blah)”. What I did was I reinstalled WarRock but It still says that error so I read on the forums that I should do sumthing with the Internet security software so I did it but sometimes It still says “cannot get a file…” and sometimes the patch completes so I click Ok and the patch window closes but nothing happens. It doesn’t run… can you please help me? I really think I can’t live without this game.

It’s me again! about my last post… I fixed it already but tnx anyway… my new problem is that after I log in… all servers are full… It says “Exceeded maximum limit”. Is it really true that it’s full for a very long time? or is it about my installation again?

It’s nice to hear that you solved your patching issue sooner. Now regarding the “maximum limit” issue, it seems that the screen shot you provided only points to the Alpha server as being full. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Nonetheless, I believe that the problem is already not on your end. You were able to install the game successfully and log in to your account, so it’s most likely an issue with the Warrock PH servers. It has been a problem since the beta days (that their servers are often full), especially on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays).
Now that Warrock PH is open to the public, the demand for this game must’ve been really high. That’s why you occasionally get “servers are full” messages. Try to log in at a later time or during off peak hours and try to see if you can join any server.

i have the same problem with melo,when i reinstallled the warrock and i completed to download the patch,when i run the game,theres an checksum error appear.. it says CFC checksum error:textdata.eng.lua..

PLEASE HELP.. OS: Windows Vista.. i installed warrock full.. and it patched itself well all fine.. i did the “run as administrator” on compatibility list.. but when i clic the second OK i loads and then it appear a BLACK SCREEN THAT STAYS.. i can hear the music, i can even hear sometimes when i move my mouse to the exit hearing the sound, that is on bottom left i think. Help please.. wanna play warrock

i have a problem aswell i clik on war rock launcher the ittle box comes up i clik ok then the updater comes up and i click ok when it says compleate and then nothing happens not even the black screen comes up it just stays on the descktop. and the game dosnt load can you help me plz?

hi everyone, i have a problem with warrok, i downloaded and installed it successfully, but when i click the icon game, normally it downloads some files, but arround the 98% of the downloading, it says something like this, “cannot extract updater.zip (…)” i don´t undestand :s can someone help me!! i run windows vista, is that the problem? (sorry about the broken english, i’m portuguese xD)

Hi I have a new mac desktop with leopard and i want to play warrock but every download i t ry it is windows. I tried using bootcamp but if you use a windows version that was already used for another computer it wont work , what do i do?

hi, i have installed war rock, completed all the patches, checked the files too but when i click OK, nothing happens, i monitored it on the task manager and it also disappears there, i have tried disabling the antivirus real time protection, disable the firewall but just the same, it disappears in the task manager. any idea on how i can fix this?

you might be knowing - WarRock is currently being published in the United States, UK, Germany, Korea and Japan . But I find It’s a decent game, but if you have BF2, play that instead. It’s more satisfying. Warrock is good only if you don’t want to shell out $50 for BF2 or however much it costs now. Warrock is a little clunky and it’s going to need some major improvements before it’s released in full.

i can farm over a 100 g in a hour to hour half on my 70 lock 31/9/21
well it works best if no allies there but just fly to the elemental plateau in nagrand north of garadar and farm motes of fire air water earth , on my server primal fire goes for 30g or you go to nether storm and find some phase hunters i think and they drop motes of mana decently a primal mana goes for 20g on my server. i can avergave about 1.8 g a min

Hi there,
Is this game worth going to the trouble of borrowing my cousins old Mac, formatting it (it’ll prob need it!) and getting it all set up in order just to play this game.
I’m looking for something new like this and some people above have said its good but is it THAT good?
