I got the chance to play World in Conflict online during the open beta event two months ago and it was a lot of fun. World in Conflict kept me occupied for a month because of that (until the beta ended). This time with the single player mode finally available, players will have a chance to go through the campaign which starts at various parts of the United States, followed by the Soviet-occupied Europe, then to Russia and lastly, back to the United States for the grand finale. The single player campaign wasn’t included in the beta version of the game, by the way.

When i try to start up the demo the screen goes black then fades away and comes up with this error: “CRITICAL ERROR DirectX9.0b or higher must be installed to run World in Conflict.” I check my directX and i have 9.0c. Just wonder if anyone else has/had the same problem.

I haven’t encountered this though, even if I have way older specs than yours. I’m playing the full game, by the way.
Since the problem is related to DirectX 9, then it’s just a software issue. Try reinstalling DX9c and update your video card driver. If you can find an alternate driver for your video card such as the one in OmegaDrivers, try installing it instead.

You may get this error if your NVIDIA motherboard firewall is enabled.
Try the following workaround which involves ending NVIDIA Firewall processes before launching the game again.
You can do that by doing the following:
1. Holding down the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys on your keyboard select the Task Manager and click the Processes tab.
2. Then click on the gray bar that says “Image Name”. (This will sort the processes by user name.)
3. Now close all or any of the five processes listed below:
* apache.exe
* ntrayfw.exe
* nsvcip.exe
* nsvcappflt.exe
* nsvclog.exe
NOTE: You are not permanently changing your system configuration; these applications will return when you restart your system.

Have a nice day and GG ALL always! ^_^

I am having a script error come up when I try to start my game. Does anybody know why
December 17th, 2007 at 0:27
Chris,
I’m sorry but I can’t provide you with enough help with the information you gave. Can you post what the script error message is? It might have something to do with your installed security software (antivirus, firewall, antispyware applications).

Nice game. It’s a little too violent for my taste. As you can tell, I’m not into this type. I prefer racing and Rock Band. Thanks.

If you like this game you’ll love Battleground Europe. Set in WWII, you get to go head to head with thousands of other play - like Day of Defeat. A nice feature of this game is the ability to use vehicles etc. See you there if you’re interested
